Mediation process
Mediation is a facilitated process designed to assist and empower parties in conflict or dispute to reach a fair and lasting settlement in a confidential environment.
The process is voluntary and totally flexible.
Mediation may take place at any stage of a conflict or dispute.
The role of the mediator is to be impartial and non-judgmental.
Most mediations settle on the day - over 80% in fact - and of those which do not over 50% settle afterwards.
The process works because the parties build up trust in and a relationship with the mediator.
Mediation enables parties to find solutions which would not otherwise be available in court.
